There is no place I’d rather be than in the middle of an abstract creation. I find it challenging but so rewarding. Creating from pulling ideas out of thin air is much like a musician improvising a solo in a “jam session”. While there are basic rules to follow in both art and music, with improv, one can go outside the box, create and explore the colors, textures, tempo and phrasing, and then pull them together to make a beautiful, or sometimes not so beautiful, visual or auditory experience.
